The year so far
The Nifty began 2026 at 26,130. It fell as low as 22,232 on 8 October, 14.9% below that. Its high for the year was 26,329 on 2 January. It has since recovered 12.6% from its low. At the close on 6 November it stood at 25,030, 4.2% below where the year started.

What has been weighing on markets
Five pressures have weighed on Indian markets this year, and two of them are easing.
Crude oil
$98.0 a barrelStill a pressure
Brent crude is at $98.00 a barrel, higher than in the last note. India imports most of its oil, so costlier crude raises inflation and import costs.
The rupee
₹93.89 per dollarEasing
The rupee is at 93.89 per US dollar, a little stronger than in the last note. A weak rupee cuts the dollar returns that foreign investors earn in India and makes imports such as oil costlier.
Foreign buying
+₹45,960 Cr this monthEasing
Foreign institutions net bought about ₹45,960 crore of shares in November up to 6 November, while domestic institutions net sold about ₹24,197 crore (NSE provisional, cash market).
US bond yields
4.87% on the 10-yearStill a pressure
The US 10-year Treasury yield is 4.87%, a touch lower than in the last note. When safe US bonds pay more, riskier markets like India have to offer more to attract money, which can pull share valuations down.
RBI policy rate
5.50%, up 0.25 pointsStill a pressure
On 7 October the RBI raised its repo rate by 0.25 points to 5.50%, its first rise since February 2023, and changed its stance to calibrated tightening. Higher rates raise borrowing costs.
Foreign investors stayed net buyers in November and the rupee strengthened, while Brent crude rose and the US 10-year yield edged lower. The RBI's rate rise stayed in place.

Foreign money returned. Indian institutions sold.
Up to 6 November, foreign institutions bought a net ₹45,960 crore of Indian shares. Domestic institutions, including the mutual funds your SIPs flow into, sold ₹24,197 crore. On Friday foreign institutions bought ₹13,750 crore and domestic institutions sold ₹5,969 crore.

Monthly SIP inflows into mutual funds
SIPs have grown tenfold in ten years
In April 2016, investors put ₹3,122 crore a month into mutual funds through SIPs. This September it was ₹32,490 crore, a new record set in the middle of one of the year's sharpest corrections.
₹38,307 Cr
went into equity funds in September, 30.6% more than in August. Small-cap funds led with ₹9,039 Cr.
10.06 crore
SIP accounts made a contribution, and about 63 lakh new SIPs were registered.
₹82.64 lakh Cr
in total industry assets, down 5.1% in the month, mainly due to ₹1.83 lakh crore of debt fund outflows and lower market values. Still 9.3% higher than a year ago.

Several fund houses have paused new money into gold funds
From 15-16 October, a number of fund houses stopped accepting new lump sums, switch-ins and new SIP registrations in their gold fund-of-funds. Instalments of SIPs registered earlier continue, and redemptions are not affected.
Reports differ on the cause: some cite SEBI instructions passed on through AMFI, while others say no regulator circular has been issued. No reopening date has been announced. Gold ETFs are not covered.

Who runs TenX Investment?
TenX Investment is the mutual fund distribution practice of Prateek Gupta, a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary based in Kolkata and a graduate of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. It is registered with AMFI as a mutual fund distributor (ARN-185393).
Is TenX Investment registered with AMFI?
Yes. TenX's AMFI Registration Number is ARN-185393. You can verify it with the distributor search on the AMFI website.
How does TenX earn money?
TenX earns commission from fund houses on the schemes it distributes. This commission is included in the expense ratio of regular plans. As a distributor, TenX does not provide investment advice.
How do I start investing with TenX?
Call or message Prateek on +91 97484 34883, or email tenxinvestmentservice@gmail.com. You need your PAN, Aadhaar and a bank account to complete KYC; after that you can start a SIP or a one-time investment in schemes from across India's fund houses.
Do you only work with investors in Kolkata?
No. TenX is based in Kolkata, but KYC, investing and paperwork can all be done online, so it works with investors across India.
What is the minimum amount to start a SIP?
It depends on the scheme. Many funds accept SIPs from ₹500 a month, and some from as little as ₹100. You can start small and raise the amount as your income grows; the SIP calculator shows what a step-up can do.
What can I do with the tools on this website?
Compare 3,400+ mutual fund plans by returns in the fund screener, see each fund's holdings and sector mix, check how much two funds overlap, build a basket, and plan with SIP and goal calculators. NAVs come from AMFI and update every business day.
How can I see all my mutual fund investments in one place?
Download your Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) from CAMS, KFintech or MF Central; it lists every folio across fund houses. TenX also reviews clients' folios with them on a schedule.
Is the information on this website investment advice?
No. Everything here is general information for education, including the Knowledge Hub and the daily quiz. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks; read all scheme related documents carefully. Past performance may or may not be sustained in future.
Where can I raise a complaint?
Contact TenX first on +91 97484 34883 or by email. If the issue is not resolved, you can file a complaint on SEBI's SCORES portal.
