Your account

What is CAS (consolidated account statement)?

The CAS is a single statement of all your mutual fund holdings across fund houses, sent by the registrars or depositories, with every transaction and the commission paid on each scheme.

How it works

You receive a CAS by the 12th of the following month by email (the 15th by post) for any month in which you transacted, and a half-yearly CAS by the 18th of the following month by email (the 21st by post). If you hold demat accounts, NSDL or CDSL sends one CAS covering both.

It shows the units, NAV and value of each holding, and the rupee commission your distributor received on each scheme.

Example

A CAS for September lists every SIP instalment you made that month across all fund houses, the units bought, and your total portfolio value at month-end.

Keep in mind

  • Check every CAS for transactions you did not make.
  • You can also request a CAS any time from CAMS, KFintech or the depositories.

Questions people ask

Who sends the CAS?

CAMS and KFintech, or NSDL or CDSL if you have a demat account.

Does the CAS show my returns?

It shows values and transactions; many statements also show cost and gains, and you can work out XIRR from it.
